Who we are

Global Adventurer is operated by eplatforms ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 03954521), registered office 9 Donnington Park, 85 Birdham Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO20 7AJ, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].

These terms have two parts. Part 1 covers the Global Adventurer app and Global Adventurer Pro. Part 2 covers GPX route files bought from this website. The refund policy is separate, and the app's privacy policy explains what happens to your data.

Part 1 — The app and Global Adventurer Pro

The licence

The app is free to download from the App Store. It is licensed to you, not sold, for personal, non-commercial use on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which applies in addition to these terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app, or use the services behind it other than through the app.

Global Adventurer Pro

Pro is a one-time in-app purchase made through Apple's App Store. The price is shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy, and Apple's purchase terms apply to the transaction. Apple is the merchant of record: we never see your payment details. Pro is tied to the Apple Account that bought it and can be restored on your other devices from Settings → Unlock Pro → Restore Purchases. There is no subscription.

Because the purchase is made with Apple, refunds are decided by Apple under its policies; see the refund policy for how to ask. We may add to what Pro includes and improve or replace individual features over time. We will not turn Pro into a subscription for anyone who has bought it.

Safety, accuracy and your responsibility

The app is a planning and navigation aid. It is not a substitute for a map, a compass, appropriate equipment, experience and your own judgement on the day. Satellite positioning can be degraded or wrong; map data, planned routes, spoken directions, climb warnings and summit information come from third-party sources and our own calculations and can be incomplete, out of date or mistaken; paths are rerouted, flooded and closed without notice; and Emergency Location can only place a call where the phone has signal. You remain responsible for your own safety and for the decisions you make on a walk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, injury or damage arising from the use of the app or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Third-party services and availability

The app relies on services provided by others, including map and elevation data from MapTiler and OpenStreetMap contributors, national mapping agencies such as Ordnance Survey, the BRouter routing service, Apple (Weather, Maps, Siri and iCloud), Garmin and Strava for their integrations, and the Database of British and Irish Hills for hill lists. Those services are governed by their own terms, and their availability, coverage and accuracy are outside our control. Our own services, such as spoken directions, live sharing, shared walk pages and the summit lookup, are provided as they are; we may change, suspend or withdraw them, and we will say so in the app where a change affects something you paid for.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app or its services to bulk-download map tiles, to overload the routing or sharing services, or in any way that breaks the law or the terms of the third-party services above. Shared walk pages and live shares must not be used to publish another person's location without their consent.

Part 2 — GPX route files bought on this website

The products

Every product sold on this website is digital content: GPX route files, PDF documents, or both. Nothing is posted. After payment your download links appear on screen and are emailed to you, and remain available on your order page.

Your licence

Purchases are for your personal, non-commercial use. You may keep copies on your own devices and print pages for your own trip. You may not resell, redistribute, publish or share the files, in whole or in part.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in GBP, USD or EUR before checkout. Payment is taken by Stripe or PayPal on their secure pages; your card details never reach this site. The price shown at checkout is the price charged. Stripe and PayPal are not involved in Pro, which is bought through Apple.

Delivery and your cancellation rights

Downloads are delivered immediately after payment. By purchasing you expressly consent to immediate supply of the digital content and acknowledge that, once the download or streaming of the content has begun, you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you have not yet begun downloading, you may cancel within 14 days for a full refund; see the refund policy.

Faulty or misdescribed content

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If something is wrong, contact us and we will repair, replace or refund.

Accuracy of route files

GPX route files are a record of the route as it was researched and walked at the time. Trails are rerouted, flooded, closed and re-waymarked without notice, and satellite positioning can itself be degraded. The files are a planning and navigation aid only: they do not replace a map, a compass and your own judgement on the day, and we are not responsible for your navigation decisions or their consequences.

Intellectual property

All content — text, maps, route files and design — remains the property of Global Adventurer or its licensors.

General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any rights you have as a consumer to bring a claim in your own country. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the version published at the time of a purchase applies to that purchase, and the current version applies to your use of the app.
